SuShi restaurant 寿司餐厅

This noon I went to a Sushi restaurant to release my sick of Asian food.

I ordered YaKiNiKu which is beef and rice. It has two choices, 150g and 200g, I odered the 200g without thinking.

At last I found it is too much, it's very hard for me to finish all. The mistake is that I ordered the food by Chinese thinking.

The beef is obviously more than rice. But in China, the same thing, normally, the rice should much more than beef. Why? I connect to the western food, and understand it.

The western food course commonly divides into 'before','main','after', the common item for the 'before' is salad, and the 'main' is meat, beef, fish etc. and some potato for supplement, dessert is the typical item for the 'after'. The important point is in 'main', the major food is meat and the potato is only for supplement, By contrast, in China, the major food is rice, meat for supplement. So it's easy to understand why the beef is much more than rice. Because it's in Sweden, the restaurant is better to offer the food in western course logic, it's easier for Swedish people to accept.

Another difference I found is, it only offers from 150g, in China, it's commonly from 100g, for some girls and children's requirement, I think this shows that maybe European wemen eat more than Chinese wemen.

 

It's also the reason for why western use fork the knife, but eastern use chopsticks. Please try to eat a whole piece of meat with chopsticks and use fork and knife to eat a bowl of rice, it will be easy to understand.:)

 

中午我去了一家寿司餐厅解解馋,缓解一下长时间对亚洲食物的相思之苦。

我点了焼肉(やきにく)就是牛肉炒饭。它有两种选择150克和200克,我想也没想就要了200克的。

最后我发现失误了,太多了,吃的我好撑。我发现原因是我按照中式思维来点餐了。

上来的牛肉炒饭,牛肉远远比米饭多,在中国,同样的牛肉炒饭,肯定是饭多肉少。为什么这里会这样?想到了西餐,我就理解了。吃西餐的过程一般分为“餐前”“主餐”“餐后”,一般餐前最通常会有色拉,主餐会有肉鱼为主,加点土豆作为补充等,餐后往往是一些甜点。关键就是主餐,西餐的主餐是以肉为主,土豆为辅,而中国则是主食-米、面-为主,菜为辅。说到这里就很容易理解为什么牛肉比饭多很多了,因为是在瑞典,餐厅要符合西方人的习惯,这样更容易让顾客理解和接受。

另一个发现的不同点是,这里的餐厅只提供150克和200克,也就是相当于中国的3两和4两,在中国,大部分的餐厅是从2两开始提供的,为了满足女士和孩子的需求,我猜想,可能欧洲的女性胃口要比东方女性大。

 

这也是为什么西方人用刀叉,东方人用筷子的原因。你用筷子吃吃一整块肉,再用刀叉吃吃一碗米饭试试?呵呵
